Inspired by my own ups and downs as an artist, the creative chaos of chasing the state of flow, and staying in the zone amidst distraction, perfectionism, and burnout, while illustrating the struggle of managing that chaos and the beauty of sinking into deep creative expression.

My goal was to explore all aspects of visual storytelling. I focused specifically on using color to drive the story forward.

In the first half of the film, the lighting is dominated by harsh reds to reflect the stress and frustration of the character (me 🌝). However, she wears purple throughout, symbolizing the state of calm and focus she longs for, even though her reality is consumed by red. By the end, the palette shifts to purples and overall brightness, aligning the environment with her inner state and showing that her reality has finally matched what she was striving for all along. Flow is illustrated in bright yellows and hints of purple to show the lightness, calm and sheer joy that creativity brings to artists!
